Personal training at home for women

Training at home removes the two things that most often stop women from starting: the journey, and training in a mixed environment where one would rather not. Both are legitimate reasons, and neither needs justifying when you make the request.

Asking for a female coach

It is a frequent request and a perfectly ordinary one. State it in the booking rather than raising it at the first appointment — it filters availability usefully and spares an awkward conversation.

Be equally direct about anything else that matters to you: whether you would prefer sessions when the home is empty, whether a family member will be present, whether you would rather train on a terrace than indoors. None of this needs explaining; stating it simply produces better matches.

What your home needs to provide

Less than most people expect. A clear floor area of roughly two metres by two covers bodyweight strengthening, mobility and low-impact cardio.

What actually limits a session is ceiling height for some movements, and the floor: bare tiles are slippery and a mat changes everything. Mention both when booking and the coach adapts.

Do not buy equipment before the first session. A coach who asks you to invest before seeing you work is going about it backwards; bands and small equipment come later, once the practice is established.

Being specific about your starting point

Flag any physical limitation before the first session — back, knees, pregnancy, high blood pressure, recent surgery. This is not a detail to mention in passing: it shapes how the session is built, and a serious coach will ask before you have to raise it.

And be honest about your current level rather than the one you would like to have. The first sessions should feel lighter than you expect. A coach who exhausts you immediately leaves a strong impression and an abandoned routine two weeks later.

The rate

The national reference rate for personal training is 150 DH per hour. The discipline, session length and frequency determine the quote; a regular commitment is negotiated differently from a single session.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask for a female coach?

Yes. Say so in the booking request rather than at the first appointment — it is a common request, it is well understood, and stating it early means you only receive matching offers.

How much space do I need?

Roughly two metres by two of clear floor. Ceiling height matters more than area for some movements, and flooring matters most of all — mention if yours is bare tile.

Do I need to buy equipment?

Not to begin with. Equipment comes later if the practice becomes established. Be wary of anyone asking you to invest before a first session.

How often should I train?

Two supervised sessions a week held consistently beat four sessions for three weeks followed by a stop. A fixed slot in the diary works better than arranging each week.
