In Marrakesh, two properties of the same floor area can take twice the work. It's the city where a quote based on floor area alone goes wrong most often — and where a well-described request saves both sides the most time.
Riad or apartment: the first thing to say
This is the single heaviest piece of information, ahead of the number of rooms.
A riad is cleaned vertically: several levels, one staircase serving all of them, a roof terrace, and an open courtyard that keeps bringing dust down to the ground floor. Internal travel time — up, down, back up with the equipment — doesn't exist in an apartment and is a real share of the job here.
An apartment in a modern district (Gueliz, Targa, Massira) is handled as anywhere else: single level, standard surfaces, predictable duration.
Saying which of the two, in the first line of the request, prevents most badly calibrated quotes.
Traditional finishes aren't cleaned like standard tiling
In older buildings, tadelakt and zellige call for precautions not everyone knows: no acidic product, no abrasive, no standing water on a porous floor. A professional used to traditional building works differently — and the wrong product permanently damages a surface that is expensive to restore.
If your property has them, say so. It isn't a comfort detail, it's a criterion for choosing the person.
Access, if you're in the medina
The derbs aren't driveable. Equipment arrives on foot, travel time from the drop-off point is added to every visit, and some heavier jobs have to be prepared rather than improvised.
State whether your address is reachable by vehicle: that line alone changes the quote, and it prevents a same-day cancellation.
What still needs stating, as everywhere
